China proposes to let Xi Jinping extend presidency beyond 2023

China proposes to let Xi Jinping extend presidency beyond 2023 China's governing Communist Party has proposed removing a clause in the constitution which limits presidencies to two five-year terms. The move would allow the current President Xi Jinping to remain as leader after he is due to step down. There had been widespread speculation that Mr Xi would seek to extend his presidency beyond 2023. Party congress last year saw him cement his status as the most powerful leader since the late Mao Zedong. His ideology was also enshrined in the party's constitution at the congress, and in a break with convention, no obvious successor was unveiled. Born in 1953, Mr Xi is the son of one of the Communist Party's founding fathers. He joined the party in 1974, climbing its ranks before becoming president in 2013. Revolutionary New Product Gives Hope to Those Suffering From Chronic Snoring (Even This Stubborn Guy!) I'll admit it -- I (used to) snore. Badly. The obvious uncomfortable restriction. And I hated the thought of travelling with it (taking a CPAP on vacation has to be a serious buzzkill). But I didn't know of any alternative. Until now. Truth be told, I can be stubborn. I put off doing anything about my snoring for years. My wife was unhappy, but hey, *I* ...

Alabama mother says teen son was 'beaten to unconsciousness' by cops Warning: Some images included in the story below are graphic. Disturbing photos showing a teen who was allegedly beaten by a police officer in Troy, Alabama, have his family calling for answers. At a news conference Friday morning, the mother of 17-year-old Ulysses Wilkerson demanded that those responsible be "held accountable" for her son being "handcuffed and beaten to unconsciousness." "As a mother, I was shocked, horrified and devastated to see my son this way -- a victim of police brutality," Wilkerson's mother, Angela Williams, said. The Alabama State Bureau of Investigation said it is looking into the incident at the request of City of Troy Police Chief Randall Barr and Troy Mayor Jason Reeves. "While I am hopeful that the State Bureau of Investigation will uncover the truth, I still call on the community to take a stand against injustices ...
